Since 2000, the Alliance Française d'Adelaïde have been presenting the French Festival. In the enchanting gardens of Carrick Hill , each Festival has been themed on a different region of France, promoting and celebrating French language and culture.
This year on November 12, 13 and 14, with a focus on Reunion Island, world-renowned and contemporary Reunion Island artists will head the music line-up with significant new names such as Nathalie Natiembe, acclaimed Jazz pianist Meddy Gerville, new revelation Fabrice Legros, the great band Pat’Jaune, Hip hop dancers Soul City just to name a few. Also, the traditional percussion band Les Tambours Sacrés will be the exceptional guest of the Credit Union Christmas Pageant this year.
The gastronomy program will entice all lovers of food and wine with live cooking demonstrations and wine tasting.
Three special guests French chefs Eric Lavalle, Jean Claude Cleret and Bernard Philippe will run a traditional French creole restaurant and will also conduct cooking demonstrations on the weekend. With over 140 people coming from France, this festival will be the largest ever set up, celebrating with success the 100 years anniversary of Alliance Française in Adelaide.
